ABOUT CAL

Cal Simone is a coach, teacher, writer, and public speaker, significantly influenced by the work of Carl Jung. He explores and enjoys the patterns of the unconscious (shadow) and, in alignment with an aspect of his life purpose, he has dedicated his life to bringing to consciousness that which is in the unconscious, including helping others to know themselves, to have better relationship dynamics, and to discover their life purpose.

Cal has led workshops on meditation, witnessing, and relationship, and is writing a book on the energetic state and trends of the American collective psyche. His studies and training for the past ten years include:

  • Extensive shadow work
  • Voice Dialogue facilitator training
  • Men’s work
  • Leadership training
  • Visioning work
  • Tantric studies
  • Work with collective energetics
  • Discovering one’s life purpose

In the fall of 2004, before leaving Washington D.C., Cal organized face-to-face gatherings between liberal and conservative voters. He has spoken on the impending end of the oil age (from the perspective of the American collective psyche), and on our relationship to powerlessness. He continues to speak and teach in the Oakland/Berkeley East Bay cities on a range of topics, including impact and perception in relationship, how projection works, spirituality and consciousness, the nature of life purpose, and the impact on society of the lack of male initiation. He is an active member of the Tribe of Men in the SF Bay area and the ManKind Project New Warrior community.

Cal has dedicated himself to the balance between the sacred masculine and feminine carried by each of us, and to building bridges between the conscious mind and the unconscious. He considers himself a lifelong work-in-progress. In the past two years, he has written more than a dozen articles for the ManKind Project’s New Warrior Journal, as well as the Culture Change Letter and Open Exchange magazine.
